Aptina CMOS SensorsA large assortment of CMOS image sensors is commercially available under the name Aptina Imaging (a division of the Micron Company).
These sensors with up to 10 megapixel VGA resolution are used for surveillance as well as industrial applications. The sensors are also used in the automotive industry and in medical applications. Special high-speed sensors have been developed for machine vision systems (automated imaging). System-on-chip sensors, i.e. sensors with important integrated image processing algorithms on a chip, can lead to significant cost savings.
